Conference Badges

Badges should be worn by all conference participants while in the conference areas. Badges validate your registrations and may be utilized to validate registration for sessions, workshops.
Badges can be printed at any registration area during the published open hours of the conference.

Name as provided for registration will be the name that appears on the badge

Badges will not be mailed or sent in advance of the conference

Author No Shows

Any accepted paper included in the final program is expected to have at least one registered author attend and present the paper at the conference. If authors agree to give an oral presentation, then it should be in person, barring any pandemic related restrictions. If authors of an accepted talk are not able to present in person, except in the case of pandemic related restrictions, they may request, at least a month prior to the conference, for their talks to be converted to a poster. Exceptions will be granted in the case of pandemic travel restrictions. Otherwise, they will considered a no show. If a paper is not presented at the conference, the paper will not be published by IEEE on IEEE Xplore® or other public access forums, but these papers will be distributed to conference attendees as conference proceedings and the copyright of these papers will belong to IEEE. For poster sessions, if the speaker is not present in front of the poster for most of the time during the poster session (virtually or in person), this also implies the paper was not presented.

Author Refund

Author registration is NON-refundable. Registration fees can be transferred to another co-author ONLY under special circumstances. All transfer requests must be made in writing by email and sent to At least one author of the paper must be registered in order to upload and register the camera-ready paper. Only the Corresponding Author is able to upload the paper. If complete payment is not received by the author registration deadline, the paper will be pulled from the publication in ISBI 2023.

Type of Presentation

ISBI23 will have 3 types of presentation:

  1. Oral presentation during an oral session
  2. Poster presentation during a poster session (all the posters can stay up during the whole conference)
  3. Virtual sessions where authors can upload a pdf of their electronic posters (ePoster) and be present online to answer questions during 2x 1-hour morning session (see program)

Access is as follow:

  • Attendance in person, 4-page paper accepted for oral: 1 and 3 (4-page paper published by IEEE);
  • Attendance in person, 4-page paper accepted for poster: 2 and 3 (4-page paper published by IEEE);
  • Attendance in person, 1-page abstract accepted for poster: 2 and 3 (1-page abstract is not published);
  • No attendance, registration for the virtual event: only 3 (4-page paper published by IEEE).
